MANuscript

…Calling men to live according to God’s script… His Word!

We want to see men who are plugged into the “life” of the Church: who are both committed to and contributing to the realisation of the church vision.

We meet on a monthly basis either on a Saturday morning for an early Morning Prayer Breakfast or on a Monday evening for teaching & motivation. This year we are focused on building the leader within through John Maxwell’s Leadership Training ‘Excel’. Whether you are a leader in your home, the workplace or in the Church – we know you can excel in all God created you to be!

Mentoring the Next Generation:

MANuscript believe in supporting guys who are new to the faith as well as those who are still in their teens. As part of this Mandate, they hold the Annual Men & Boys Weekend, which aims to provide men a chance to spend time with their sons; and for those boys whose father’s don’t live at home, to spend time with a role model they can learn from:

The Manuscript Weekend is one of the highlights in the Church calendar for men of City Gates. In preparation for this year’s weekend, one of the guys who was there last year shares his experiences:

“Manuscript is an annual event which really can’t be missed! I look forward to it every year, as it is a time when I learn, develop, grow and socialise with my Christian brothers. Last year was awesome and I would encourage all men, both young and old to attend this year!

As a result of last year’s weekend, I found God gave me the necessary wisdom to move forward in many areas of my life. This was only possible with the help of other men who came around and supported me. I was able to look at myself, recognise barriers or problems which were holding me back and leave them behind in order to become stronger, more energised and confident. I want to thank the men who shared their hopes, dreams, ambitions, fears and joys with me; I really felt this gave me the freedom to do the same.

The High Rope activity was a fantastic experience. Everyone encouraged each other to complete all the tasks: Personally, I found the ‘leap of faith’ the most challenging but at the same time, the most fun. There is a sense of power when a group of men get together and help each other to accomplish a task.

On the Saturday evening we experienced God in an amazing way. There was complete freedom in our worship as we sung, danced, marched and gave glory to God. I don’t think this had ever happened before at Manuscript, so it was a great experience.

I choose to make the most of the weekend, so I jump on the minibus with the rest of the guys (even though I can drive), stay up late chatting with others who are like-minded and wake up as early as I can. This ensures I interact as much as possible over the weekend.

I hope you can make it this year!

MANuscript also recognises the importance of the role of fathers in our homes, and annually holds a men & boys weekend away, the purpose of which is to develop and build the intimacy between a boy and his dad… “Anyone can be a father, but it takes a man to be a dad”.
