Managing Money God’s Way

In the current climate, it can be quite hard to manage our finances. There are many bills to pay out, and many plans screaming out for us to buy into them, with the false promise to make everything better for us. Loans. Credit Cards. Store Cards. Hire Purchase. Early Pay-Day. Loan Sharks. Buy Now Pay Later. You must have seen them for yourself!

But this is not God’s design for your finances. He is a God of order who works through effective planning and responsible decisions. So when it comes to finances, what is God’s way of managing our money?

To find out more, you may want to consider attending the “Managing Money God’s Way” workshop which will be held this Saturday 11th September, from 9:30am – 2pm at The Church, 29 Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1BH. There is a cost of £5 which includes your teaching material and a buffet lunch.

Previous members who attended this Course found it beneficial, helpful and 99% found it met their pre-conceived ideas of what they wanted to attain as a result of attending this Course.

There are only 40 spaces, so call The Church Office to book your place. A creche is being provided for single parents and couples who would like to attend this one-off training day.

STARTING THIS WEEK!!

There are more and more young men being caught up in gang-life… more and more young men and women who are walking around with knives and guns across the streets of London. More and more of our children are being lost to this streets of London.

If this is something you feel passionate about, or you have God’s compassion for these lost young men and women, seeking God desperately for an answer – then TAG… YOU’RE IT!

Find out more about The Army of God at 2 training days: Saturday 11th September and Saturday 18th September in City Gates House from 10:30am – 1:30pm. Join The Army of God and be the answer to the streets of London and our young people!

Encounter Prayer Meeting

Join us this evening – Tuesday 7th September, from 8pm at the Church for our Encounter Prayer Meeting.

This is a great time of prayer and worship, drawing together in the presence of the Lord as we seek Him corporately. If you have prayer needs, or just an overwhelming desire to get involved in Church life, what better place than at Encounter! Over the years, this has proven to be the place of change, the place of answers, the place of testimony. Encounter is the heart-beat of City Gates.

So don’t stay away, come down TODAY!

Blueprint Youth at Camp

City Gates Youth are leaving for camp today – Monday 23rd August

They will be away for the week, returning to Ilford on Friday 27th August. Please keep them, and the leaders, in your prayers as they seek God to IGNITE the passion within them for more of Him, and to do more of His will! There is such a sense of excitement from the Young People as they are ready to spend time away from London, with friends and in the presence of the Lord!

Youth Mission

Continue to pray for the Young People as they are on mission on the Island of Guernsey. They have been having a great impact on the local community where they are based, and have been enjoying sharing their faith with local people.

They will be returning to Ilford on Wednesday, pray the Lord brings them all home safely!

City Women Walk & Talk

Ladies, come and join us for the City Women Walk and Talk in the early morning sunshine on Saturday 21st August. This is a great occasion for you to meet friends and chat with like-minded people as you exercise!

We will meet at the Cafe in the middle of Valentine’s Park at 9:20am ready for the walk at 9:30am.

Please bring some change, as there is a lovely cafe we can enjoy refreshments together, once we have finished our walk.

MANuscript Bible School

Guys – there is still time for you to register for the MANuscript Summer Bible School!!!

Starting on Thursday 5th August, Pastor Steve will be leading discussion and study based on 1 Peter throughout the whole of August. The classes will be held at the Church every Thursday evening from 8pm – 9:30pm and the cost is… £0.00 that’s right – this Summer Bible School is FREE!

A reminder to all those in their 20’s who thought they might come down to the July meeting next week… there is NO 20-Something this month! There will a social event in August to Alton Towers instead!

Family Fun Day

There are still tickets available for this fantastic family day out.

Why not bring the children, bring the grandparents, bring the neighbours and join with the family of City Gates as we spend some time together in the Summer Sunshine.

There are activities for the children: bouncy castles, assault courses, ball games – for both the children & the adults, a safari ride (for an extra £2) plus a BBQ and refreshments. There is so much to do, so many people to meet you will have a great day out!

Tickets are available (payable by card over the phone):

Family tickets (2 adults & 2 children) – £20

Children (aged 4-12years) – £5

Adults (aged 13+) – £7

The cost will increase should you choose to purchase your ticket on the day:

Adults (aged 13+) – £9

Children (aged 4-12years) – £6

Family tickets are not available on the gate

So… grab the sun cream, and come down to Woodlands Camp, Manor Road, Lambourne End, RM4 1NB, from 1pm – 9pm.
